A FEW
FIELD NOTES.
An honest beta.
A useful idea worth testing.
Does SkyReply already work over satellite?
The backend is being tested now. Satellite SMS delivery still needs a real field test with a compatible phone and carrier. Connection, timing, and delivery are not guaranteed.
Do I need to know my coordinates?
No. General outdoor questions need no location. For weather, send a nearby US town and state, like “Panguitch, Utah.” You can share coordinates if you want a more specific forecast point.
What can I ask?
Ask about overlanding, hunting, hiking, camping, gear, field skills, and sailing. US land weather forecasts and calculated sunrise/sunset times are connected. Current-information questions can use web search with source links. Search results may be incomplete or outdated; they do not verify conditions at your location.
What does the beta cost?
The invite-only beta is free. Your carrier’s message, data, or satellite charges may apply. There is no paid subscription in this beta.
Is this an emergency or navigation service?
No. Use your phone’s Emergency SOS or official emergency services in an emergency. SkyReply is not monitored for rescue, and its answers do not replace verified maps or official information.
How do I stop messages or delete my data?
Text STOP to opt out, HELP for assistance, or DELETE to remove your app conversations, saved locations, and enrollment. Provider records and limited duplicate-message records may remain; see the privacy policy.
